How to set up a Promo Code (Shop/Barber)

Adding Promo Codes:

1. First, open the Commander web app or iPad app. Tap the Settings tab.
2. Select the dropdown menu in the top right corner and select Promo Codes.
   • NOTE: If you're looking to create a Brand-wide Promo Codes, check out our article about Brands for multi-location shops!
3. Select Add Promo Code in the top right corner to create a brand new code. To edit an existing code, select one from your list to access its details.
4. Enter the applicable promo code details:
   • Promo Name: What is the code clients should enter to redeem this promo?
   • Promo Type: Is this promo applicable for a fixed amount or a percentage? Fixed amount means the promo applies for a specific total, like $5 off. Percentage means the promo applies a percentage, like 15% off.
   • Value: What is the dollar or percentage amount do you want this promo to apply?
   • First appointment only: Enable this option if you want a promo to ONLY be eligible for a client's first appointment with your shop.
   • One time promo: Enable this option if you want a promo to ONLY be redeemed once.
   • Expiration Date: Enter a date for when this promo is no longer eligible to be booked or redeemed past.
   • Limit Days/Times when promo is valid: Enabled this option to set specific days and times when this promo can be redeemed. We recommend utilizing this option to encourage more bookings during the slow days and times within your shop.
   • Recurring promo: Enable this option if you want a promo to be redeemable on a recurring basis, like once every 30 days.
   • Limit number of uses for each customer: Enable this option if you want to limit the number of times a client can use a promo.
   • Limit promo to certain services or products: Enabled this option to set specific services or products this promo can be redeemed toward.

Applying Promo Codes

You can apply a promo to any transaction by entering the code in the Promo/Loyalty Code field of the charge window before ringing out the client. Clients can also book their own appointments with promo codes applied  directly from our booking sites and apps!

Deleting Promo Codes:

We strongly recommend applying expiration dates to your promo codes, rather than deleting them so that you can keep an accurate record of past promotions.

Once you select the promo code, you can hit "Delete" in order to remove this promo code and all associated records of its use.

PLEASE NOTE: For commission barbers, the Commission Payout report will include and pay out their commission split on all transaction totals, including discounted services.
