Using Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android

With Tap to Pay on SQUIRE, you can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments, right on your phone — from physical debit and credit cards, to Apple Pay and other digital wallets — no extra readers or hardware needed. It’s easy, secure, and private.

 

  • On iOS: Tap to Pay is currently available for US and UK based users on iOS. This feature requires iOS devices on version 16.7 or later.
  • On Android: Tap to Pay is available in the US, UK, Canada and Ireland for Android users. You need a compatible Android device and Android 9 software or later.

 

 

 

Using Tap to Pay:

 

Using Tap to Pay is simple and only requires your Barber account to have Register Permissions. This can be provided by a Shop account or by contacting SQUIRE Support.

 

  1. Open SQUIRE Commander on a compatible iPhone. 
  2. Select Charge, then select Tap to Pay.

  3. The first time you use Tap to Pay, a firmware update is installed. Wait until the firmware update is complete before moving to the next step.

  4. Present the phone to the customer.
    1. On an iPhone, The customer holds their contactless card horizontally or hovers their device at the top of the phone, over the contactless symbol.

    2. On an Android, the customer holds their card behind the phone.

  5. When you see the Done checkmark, the transaction is complete.
